Can I just have 1 Angelfish?

Can I just have a lone Angelfish in a community tank? Would it get lonely? Do I need 2 or 3 for it to be happy?

yes 1 is fine, generally in small groups of 2 or 3 if not given a large enough tank one will beat up badly on the others

I've got a single juvenile angel in my 20g, he seems pretty happy, even though the ram is the boss hehe.

I have a 3ft x 1.5ft x 1.5ft 180litre tank (45G?) and plan to have 5 or 6 species. Planted, but not overly, with Eheim Pro 2 filter. Would it be able to handle 2 or 3 Angels or just stick with 1?

If you want more than one go for two, but from what Ive noticed Angels do well on their own. A friend of mine and I both have just one Angel in our tanks, and in both cases, the Angels are the boss of the tanks.

I have heard that with angels, you either have 1 or 6+ as with alot of cichlids. They should'ent be to aggressive until they pair off, then youv'e got trouble!

i have 1 angel in a 44 gal corner with many tetras and gouramis and it does great
