can u keep Siamese Fighting Fish at 22 C'

Its says on the net to keep Siamese Fighting Fish from 24 C' - 30 C'.

But what if you keep it at 22 C' what would happen and would it be OK to keep it at this temp.

71-72 degrees (22C) is rather cool for a betta. They are warm water fish because the pools they live in in the wild are fairly shallow (but much larger than most people think) and are in direct sun for the most part. At cooler temperatures, the body would not function optimally...things would process more slowly. For instance, since fish are cold-blooded, if you euthanize with the freezer method, as the fish's core temperature cools down, organs begin to slow down and then eventually cease to operate. Obviously, at 72F bettas won't shut down...but they will be more active and in better condition aroun 78-82F. 27C is just fine. Bettas like warmer water than most other tropical fish.

If possible, I suggest getting a small heater, 25w, that is adjustable and just using it to keep the tank stabl around 78F or 25.5C.
