Yeah, you should go for the Gold Mystery! Those are beautiful snails. They will eat plants, but only if that's their last choice of food. They're not asexual either.

To keep mine off the plants I've started putting in algae waffers and have been attaching lettuce to the rocks... He doesn't seem to be eating the plants anymore. Though I second that about the babies... Mine's whipped out four batches since I've gotten it. *shrugs*
