Hey guys...picked one of these fellas up for a smidge over $3 and was excited so thought I would share...if I can get a decent pic sometime I'll post it

ya...i was buying other stuff so I wasnt paying much attention when the prices came up and the lady at the register rang it up as a common pleco so mostly it was a store error in my favor...it was marked $14 which I still thought was a decent price

managed to get a sorta ok shot which I will post here as well

hes really only like 1in long for now...

nothing like a underinformed employee at the register.what a deal.defintly beats a blue eye for 18 but thats not bad either.now if i could just get that zebra pleco for the same as a common

ya...i would love to have a zebra...ive only seen one once...$30 they wanted and I didn't feel comfortable at the time with a fish of that rarity...not that I dont mind killing a tetra, its just that I figured if I am unsure of what I am doing (which i was then, being new) i shouldnt risk it...

what you pased a $30 zebra.no way,that's unbeilevable.if you come across this deal again let me know i will drive to l.a. and pick some up.just tell the shop that i a coming.i'll drive like a hundred miles an hour to get there.

Wow! Only 30 bucks, at the store near me it goes for $80! But the pleco that you got is just what happened to me, my dad picked him up as a common pleco for something like 99 cents.

I know nothing about these guys, how big do they get? Anything else that I should know about it? I currently have it in a 20g community tank, is this large enough for him?

Also, my petstore gets a bunch of these guys in every week (or atleast I think they do) they tend to change the prices between 99 cents and 4-6 dollars a fish, but every time they look the same

this was at fountains...its on (i believe) university...only saw them there once though, have been back to look several times never again

hey. i just bought a fish that looks just like this for $20. i was told it was a false zebra pleco. what do you guys think? i will try to send a pic soon so you can compare. thanx.

Great deal on tha Pleco, I've gotten some similar, but not nearly as special deals myself, like when I got a Diamond tetra mixed in with some Glo-Lites.

a Zebra Pleco for $30?!! I've never seen on except in pictures but my lfs quoted me $100 for one.

False zebra plec, candy stripe plec, clown peckoltia, all the same fish, the miracle of changing common names and how fish dealers make money. Nice fish though , whether it cost 20 or 3 dollars.
Zebra plecs for $100 - more than I'd pay. These are the ultimate internet hype fish. I'm not saying they're not worth it, but there are a lot of great plecs out there for a lot less money

thanx wayne. good 2 know. i was also wondering what to feed him, because he hasn't eaten any algae wafers or shrimp pellets. and i never see him on the glass.
