So currently i'm running a 35gallon Tank with a Fluval 204 Canister Filter.

The 204 is rated with a 180 gph output, but its probably about ~140-150 with the media or whatnot. I currently have a Aqueon QuietFlow 20 on my 20gallon tank which is about ~125 gph output.

My question is... Do you think its a better idea to switch the QuietFlow for the Fluval Canister in the 20L tank. Would this be too high of an output/flow rate for the fish listed below:

LiveStock in 20L:
2 GBR
6 Kuhli Loaches
6 RCS
2 Ghost/Glass Shrimp
1 Bamboo Snail
3 Apple Snails
1 Assassin Snail

Would this also be to high of an output for possibly putting in Betta Albimarginata or "White Seam Fighters" into the tank (if you know).

the 204 DOES NOT have a flow-control feature. but it would be fine on the 20 gal long. bettas should be fine with flow as long as a part of the tank has calm water...my Betta does fine in a 10 gal, filtered by the Eheim ecco 2232, even on full current. female Betta will actually appreciate the current (but try to aim the power-head at a glass wall or something..

...its the large black lever right on top of the silver lever that opens the top part of the canister. that lever closes the flow through the tubes...maybe my 205 is special...wait...its a 205, say whaaat?! Is that 204 of yours REALLY old?

lol i had to change my post then...0 helpful points for Newman here :[

ROFL, didnt think the #04s had them, just the 05 series. I am the proud owner of a 204 not a 205... i wish. lol

I purchased it used of a guy who had the 35 tank. It works amazingly buttttt doesnt have an adjustable flow system. thats why i was curious about the pressure for the 20L.. i'll probably just aim it at the glass as you suggested though if you think that'd work

i used to have a 204 on my 20 gallon SW tank and it can put out a bit a flow... if you want a betta I'd def point the output directly at a wall... they arent great swimmers.
