Canister Filter - Routing tubes question?

I currently have my canister (Fluval 405) setup as the inlet goes in the far left of the tank and the outlet to the right side fo the tank. I did because it's a new filter and wanted to build the bacteria up in the canister while the original top mount filter was running in the middle.

My question is, is it better in this configuration with the inlet/outlet on the ends of the tank or is it better in the middle of the tank? I do know the longer the tube, the lower the flow rate.

Thx!

I dont really think it matters if the inlet is in the middle or on the side of the tank. My preference is to have the inlet on one side and the outlet on the other side of the tank.

This is just my view...I like to run as close to the middle as possible. I believe that the filter being on the far left (or right) will lack in the cleaning of the other side. Whereas if its in the middle it will pull evenly from both sides.
