I bought a Canon Powershot A520 camera bundle a few months ago, and I don't care for the Photoshop software so I am going to get a Kodak camera instead. If anyone is interested, the camera was bought brand new a few months ago and comes with the printer dock, ink cartridges, and print paper. I am selling it for $150, plus shipping depending on how fast you want it. I also have the Adobe Photoshop program that I will sell for $20. This is the camera bundle Buy the Canon PowerShot A520 Digital Camera and SELPHY CP510 Photo Printer Bundle and other Photo Printers at circuitcity.com

Mo,
I have that same camera and I don't use any of the frilly programs that came with it - I just hook it up with my usb cord and edit the pictures out of "My Computer". I use mostly Microsoft Digital Image Suite, but for what it's worth, I don't really like the editing program the camera came with either. It takes forever and it controls too much - I don't like the computer/camera telling me what to do :)

The Powershot series of cameras is way better than anything Kodak offers in a point-and-shoot package (meaning SLRs are left out of the comparison). The optics on the Canon cameras blows Kodak out of the water. Like was said above, just use windows to copy the pictures over to your computer. I've never installed any of the software (other then drivers, when necessary) for any of the cameras I've used, either personal or at work (Canon, Kodak, Olympus, Agfa, Nikkon). I purchased a half-dozen A520s last spring for use by our Police Officers. In side-by-side comparison testing, the beat out everything else.

Getting rid of a camera because of the software it comes with, is like getting rid of your whole fish tank because you don't like one fish that's in it.

Its not just the software, I don't care for the camera either. I want something with more optical zoom, like the Kodak EasyShare z650.

My memory card is at the photo shop right now, but I'll take a pic of it once I get it back. But I attached a link to the Circuit City website where I got it so you can see exactly what I have in the first post.

Actually, when I mentioned above that the A520 beat out the other cameras, the z700 came in second place - which has been improved upon and is now the z650. 10x optical zoom is huge, and uses the SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH VARIOGON lens, which should give some improvement from the lackluster clarity of the older easyshare cameras. The downside to that camera is it's lack of portability. It's like lugging around an SLR - which isn't bad when you want to take a picture, but sucks for carrying it around.

I should have spent the money and bought the camera that I wanted to begin with, rather than trying to save money on a cheaper camera. I take lots of pictures, and I don't mind carrying a bigger camera. In fact, we have a really big 35mm camera that I sometimes use. I just want something that will take good pictures of fish, tanks, and anything else that I want, and software that is easy to upload to the net.
