Catfish barely breathing!! Help!!!

I have a catfish that is about 5 years old.....He is in a tank with two plecos and 4 chicilds in a 55 gallon. He hasn't moved in two days and he is barely breathing. I dont know what to do for him. Please help me with any suggestions. i noticed that one gill is red and he is getting extremely skinny!! PLEASE HELP

have you tested your water for any large amounts of ammonia? Or anything else that could be harming your catfish?

the ammonia levels are good and so is the PH. i just did a 20% water change. nothing seems to be helping.

what kind of catfish is it?

syndonotis hes about 6- 7 inches

There are a several possible things that your catfish may be dealing with. This includes cysts, and internal issues. I'm not that experienced when it comes to stuff like this and I think it's best for someone else to give you their opinions/diagnosis. Do as much research as possible...

What is the reading of a 'good' ammonia level? Do you have numbers for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

i dont know the numbers of ammonia... i tested it and went by the color it was safe...it said....lol....anyway i had to take him out of the tank cause my pleco was starting to suck on him.....
