CF Bulbs dimming

Im sure they do as all bulbs do, but if im correct i think that ive read that the K rating in bulbs change over time. Get a new one if you can and youll prolly notice a difference if its not what youve remembered it to be.

I just got my 96w BrightKit so im so happy. Sorry this doesnt really correlate to your post but id just thought id add this.

I had my 96 watt Brightlight (customsealife - probably the same one Depthc has). for over 2 years. (5000k bulb). As you recall from another thread I just got a replacement from aquatic store.

Well the new one is certainly much brighter than the old one before it burned out. But - my old one WAS still bright, the plants were still thriving and pearling. Manufacturers say these cf bulbs last 12-14 months.... which is technically correct - but I would try to stretch at least 2 years out of one bulb because they are costly to replace.
