Can chaeto go in a main tank? Or does it have to be in a refugium?

Ok good. So it won't harm anything and will grow fine? I want the pods and mini bristle etc in the sand bed.

it will grow fine, but depending on what kind of predators you have in the display the critters may be eaten very quickly even with the chaeto

Right now I have 6 margarita snails and 6 red scarlet reef hermits. I am planning to get 2 percula clownfish and a royal gramma. The other fish I am not sure of yet. Are any of these predators to it?

yes---the clowns might eat the pods, and the royal gramma will definetly eat them
you might want to have some sort of rubble pile for the pods to live in--something innaccessible to the fish
btw, great choice for fish for your zoo reef

my perc eats pods..and chew my nudibranch that came from my new zoos.
