Changign the media in the filter!

i goign to change the stones the rest of the Filters stuff as i haven't done this now for a good few months 6-8 ruff guess!. maybe longer whats the best way to do so! just go for it! or what

don't want to kill to many goodies in the filter!

Unless the media degrades over time, I would just reuse it rather than replace it (cheaper that way). You may wish to rinse it off good. You can use aquarium water (pour some in a bucket), or tap water. Tap water will kill all of the bacteria, but if you don't have a large fish load, you should be ok. Clean 50% at a time, 2 week intervals.
