Cheap live rock online?

I'm trying to save up some money for around 12-15 lbs. of live rock. At my LFS, its $8 a lb. Do any of you know of any trust worthy websites with good prices? My total amount was $93 w/ shipping on Liveaquaria.com.

I don't really know of any...most places won't ship small quantities because it isn't cost effective

your best bet is to get some cheap base rock and toss a pound or two of live rock in with it. Over time the base rock will become live rock.

Camaro, what's the base rock every one uses... I forget what it's called.

I think some people use tufa, but most people buy dried out live rock

You typically, at least IME don't get anything good when you order online. If money is an issue...pick out a few nice peices locally then pick up dead rock. Like others have said...the same stuff just dead.

I'd check out local clubs or your local forum on Reef Central. There's usually someone selling "used" live rock cheap, or even giving it away.
