What kind of cichlids?

More than likely the answer will be no. Cichlids are curious little buggers anyway, and if they think something has the potential to be food, they will be relentless to a snail like that. I've had a krib kill an apple snail that was almost as large as the krib was.

Yeah, I woulden't risk it unless you have some VERY doscile and well fed cichlids... I once had a 2" baby oscar devour a 2" giant columbian ramshorn snail... he was bloated laying on his side behind a plant for 2 days, but he got it all down...

I bought a medium sized black mystery snail and tried it out. They bother him every once in awhile. I usually keep my cichlids well fed. I feed them 3 times a day.(morning, afternoon, and before i go to bed.) I think it is going to work. If it doesn't I am going to put him in my 10g with some platies. Thanks for all the help!

Yeah, just keep a close eye on him, the Oscar never looked at the snail twice untill he decided to empty that shell LOL. It's good you have a backup plan, but if they decide they want to eat it, you probably won't have much time to save it LOL.
