chlorine in tap water

Hey .. If Im filling a 10 gallon bucket with tap water , how long before the chlorine dissapates ? Is 24 hours ok ?

That depends...

Nowadays, it's likely that your municipal water supplier is adding chloramine, not chlorine. Chloramine doesn't "gas off" in any reasonable period of time.

You can contact your local water department for clarification on what they add, but you're probably better off just adding a dechloinator.

ya,buy 1 bottle of dechlorinator,they aare fairly cheap.

If the additive is -chlorine- then setting it out for 24-48 hours would be fine.

a lot of water company's have websites where you can check the stats of your water.

24 hours is always a good rule of thumb, thats all it takes. But seriously though, dechlorinator is plenty cheap enough, and it's instant
