Chocolate Gourami

Does anyone out there have Chocolate Gouramis or had them at one time?

I have a pair and they are doing really good in my 30 gal. I have been unable to find any information on these beautiful and hard to find Gourami.

Any information or experiences shared would be greatly appreciated.

i can't really say i know much about them. they never seem to have them around here. i do know that they need a low PH, but thats all i can tell ya, sorry...

Nice fish, I'm suprised you can't find info - baensch atlas, anabantoid societys. Mostly wildcaught still, soft acid water, fragile in wrong conditions

Well thanks for the info. Fortunately I do have a low pH in my tank.

hmm... could the chocolate gourami be the females dwarfs?

i didnt check the links and couldnt see a pic, but i heard the males are colorful and the females brown. my lfs wont even sell females b/c they dont sell due to lack of coloration. i want a female dwarf though!

after seeing the pics... its not that they are females! cool, another species of gourami for me to check into!
