cichlid and a gouraami

#1
I got a big 5 inch severum cichlid new today and also a small 1 inch convict. The gouramis are beating up on the convict should I but the convict in my ten gallon guppy fry tank or leave hime in the 70gallon. Also the severum cichlid is very mellow and I saw the serpae tetras nipping his fin with no retaliation on his part. Is he going to defend himself?

this is the risk you run when putting cichlids together with community fish...it just doesn't work well.

I'd say within a month or so those two cichlids will have killed or eaten most everything else in the tank...(mostly the guppies and the tetras) You really ought to re-evaluate your stocking list...
