We have a cichlid who is having a problem with her eye. Visablly she seems fine other wise. It's just her left eye. It started to get cloudy, then as time progressed it started buldging out more and more. It looks like there is some redness inside the eyes too. We had this happen to another chichlid of the same type and his eye ending up popping out and he eventually died. Help!

could be something called "pop-eye"
it can affect one or both eyes - makes them twice the normal size.......check the disease data-base on this site or google for more info
cloudyness is un-typical though - so keep an open mind
common causes of pop-eye (from memory) are stress - water conditions - bacterial infection
i only had it once - it cleared up (unaided) in 48 hrs - but it can be fatal so treat for bacterial infection, and make sure the water is ok and that the fish isn't being bothered by others
