cichlid help

i have a some past experiance with chiclids in a 29 gal tank. i am looking into a 55gal soon and i dont know what to do with it. i would like a nice amount of fish but i dont know what . I would like a jack dempsy a convict and what other will be compatable, how many fish can i have in a tank this size, or is this even possable. thanks...

a jack demsey is going to get to big for that size tank. but a pair of convicts would look nice and they are easy, they just mate like crazy. you could also do a mbuna tank, shell dwells, a bunch of dwarf cichlds would also look very nice.

thanks i do not really know the diffrent specie names when i had my 29 galk i bought the coolest looking ones and just stuck them in that was a mistake i will try to look them up.

A dempsey will be fine in a 55gal tank, they're a medium sized CA cichlid. But you won't be able to add anything else, it will have to be a one-fish-only tank.

i would like more than 1 what would be my other options. i like ones that are aggresive its just more me

oh really i thought that jack dempseys get to big that they could start out in a 55 gal but later would have to be put into a 90 gal or larger. well sorry for the bad info. listen to SK she knows

You can do a Discus tank if your commited! They would look awesome!
