Cichlid ID please

heres the story i bought these guys a couple months ago ... labeled as africans... im just wondering what species they are or are they some sort of hybrid.. they have had babies but they ate them ,,

also can anyone tell if they are male and female probably not from the pics... not the best pics they are kind of short notice and im not use to this new camera yet either ..

wow thanks for the replies .. cichlid man yes after seeing pics of the red or orange zebra i believe you are right it looks exactly right... as for the second one... im not sure i get what you mean a cross.. do you mean like a cross breed... im still trying out how to sex these fish.. it would be good to find out which one is the one having babies.. its definatley going to be hard from the pics i have .. once i get used to this camera i will post better more cleaer pics..

OB's are very rarely found in the wild, but are still...from what i have read and understand, to be a cross between two species. OB Peacocks are in no way wild, Mbuna OBs can be wild but generally are not.

Also, from what i've read...Males are almost never OBs, females are almost always OB. So that may help with your male/female thing.

thank you fishchaser... i just wish i had better pics those pics dont bring out the really neat almost metalic like blue on the one and the orange zebras,, the one has a real bright orange on it ... im working on new pics as we speak but im trying to figure out what the iso speed is for... which setting for white balance and ev compensation i should use tooand it has a shooting mode on it ... action, landscape, portrait, and sunset im confused with this one.. its a hp photosmart 5.0 megapixel digital camera.. my other one was simple just point and click,,, hah im just not up with the times i guess... any ideas anyone ?

if you are just starting with the camera, its best to start with the auto settings and get used to the camera. Just make sure the macro is turned on and your taking pics at the highest quality available (you can resize them later if needed). Also, if using a flash, shoot down at an angle so it doesnt reflect back into the camera...just some quick tips :)

thank you verse with the tips they will help alot especially coming from a pro.. wow that looks alot like my fish.. on the second link you posted straitjacket im working on better pics and ill upload them to my site and post some links....
