Cichlasoma Dovii (Wolf Cichlid), Managuense (Jaguar Cichlid), Festae (Red Terror), Trimac, Texas Cichlid, Green Terror, Red Devil...
Any of those brutes would look pretty cool in a large tank.

PEACOCK BASS!!!  8) that would be sweet in there. Pike cichlds, texas, jaguars..... is all you want in there is cichlids? i could think of some cool stuff for a tankl that large.  Like arawonna, red tailed catfish, tiger shovelnose, red bay snook....

how about a bunch of little lake malawi fish, like 300 labidochromis caerelus.

then again that could get boring and it would be a PITA to remove rocks and mouthbrooders

I agree with what snowplankton said but I wouldn't attempt all of that in a 230.  maybe 2 or 3.

thanks Nativefish_boy!  These fish seem pretty cool, is there a combination of these that wouldnt work, or would work bettter together?  I love arawonna, ive never seen one in real life just in pics.  So what wounld work with arawonna?  The tank is 6' long, 2' deep and 2 1/2' tall.  Thanks...

The arawonnas i have had got alone with everything fine. They mostly just tended to themselves. If you do get one thought, stay away from green terrors, and jaguars. Those fish killed both of mine. Evil little things. The peacock bass would work, the red bay should, severums, salvinis ( these are pretty cool ) jack dempesys would probably do ok with an arawonna. As far as the catfish go. I would probably not get either of the two i suggested if you got an arawonna. They would eat it. Those cats grow very large very quickly and the arawonna won't grow as fast, allthough you could add one later. Any other ?'s

Sadly the 230g looks like its not going to happen so its gonna be a 150g.  The 125 is still 6ft long just a tad bit shorter and not quite as deep.  So an Arawonna and a bass would go well together?  They look like some really nice fish. I thought maybe an Arawonna, Bass, shovel nose and a knife fish.  Any other ideas or comments??

The 230g was used, it was bought this jan and set up for saltwater, had a 40g sump, the works.
The prob was the guy paid about 4500 for all the gear new, and wanted 2500 for it. Really not a bad price, but we were trying to get him to come down a bit, esp because there was a fair size chip out of the glass about 6" from the bottom of the tank that your thumb could fit nicely into.  He wouldnt move on the price.  We couldnt afford 2500 plus substrate, rock, filter media, power heads, and  fish.  I can get a 125g from the LFS brand new, all the gear I want for 1500 tax in, plus whatever fish I want, which is alot better then a used chiped tank for 3000...  So its gotta be the 150g,  Ill  make sure to take some pics when we get it and during all the set up to show all you guys the fun we have getting it all together. Id love to hear any creative or decorative ideas on the possible look for the tank.
And thanks again native fish for your help im sure ill have more questions before i order my fish....  Yeah thats the only down fall.  My lfs does not stock these fish so they have to be ordered in, and ive never seen the red bay, peacock or a real arawonna, just gotta go by pics on the internet.  O well...
