Can you put shrimp / crayfish in with dwarf cichlids?  I'd like to keep them again.  I had them in a  community tank but now I'd like to get a couple of electric blues'.  Any thoughts?? *thumbsup2* *thumbsdown2*

i been haveing trouble keeping dwarf cichlids (Blue Rams) but i think they're pretty peacful just not when they're layng eggs, one of mine layed eggs several times b4 it just stoped eating and died few days later... i've keped shrimps and crayfishes with bunch of other fishes but i don't recomend crayfish with small fish the one i use to have killed half my fishes seveal years ago one was about the same size as it was but the amano shrimps i have now are all alive andwell the fishes leave them alone and the shrimps try and steal food away from the fishes ate feeding time lol maybe shrimps will do fine with ur dwarf cichlids but not always true i remember few weeks ago someone on here posted a pic of his kribnesis killing a shrimp for stealing food but probally by accident only way to find out is testing it out urself

I dropped a crayfish in my tank of goldfish when I was a kid and it ate most of them. Not too sure about Cichlids, but I wouldn`t trust the crayfish in any of my tanks now.

I had a blue lobster. He was one of many in a long line of blue lobsters named Pinchy. Specifically, he was Pincherootieus Maximus the 4th: Pinchy Resurrection. Well, the time came to move and I had to give him up. The two good LFS' didn't have space ... so I donated him to petco. The slacker kid working goes, "Is this thing predatory?" and I'm like, "You see those two big claws?" and so he goes and (without floating the bag or otherwise acclimating Pinchy) just dumps Pinchy into a ciclid tank. I watched with amusement as Pinchy chased the ciclids around the aquarium, claws outstretched like he wanted to hug them. By the time the kid was done making out my ticket (they actually gave me some store credit), Pinchy had killed 2 ciclids and was trying for a 3rd. Hehe!

If the Crayfish is hungry and believes it can take out a smaller fish it will eat it. If the fish is large and aggressive like the Largemouth Bass in my area it will eat the Crayfish. I don`t think the two are very compatible.
