I want to know if all african cichlids will thrive in the same water conditions?

My LFS is small and can't tell me from which lake the cichlids come from...But i do know that they are african cichlids for sure!lol

i understood from reading around the web that ph should be between 7-8.2....but do not know water hardness!

Can some help me here...!!   THANK YOU! :-*

yea..on the tank at the store they say mixed africans..

Are those a type of africans or just all mixed?

what about temp? and lighting? any more info? would help!

well it was at big als..i don't think tell sell mutts but i might be wrong!

still want some good info on cichlids or a website to read it from.

there's a few from my favourites list.

Just have to ask, are you in Canada? And yes I've seen mutts in a BigAls(Aquarium Services) in Ottawa.

the mixed tanks i have seen have been all malawi but you should prolly check for yourself, and about temp i keep mine at 78 and you dont need really strong lighting cause you usually dont have plants in african cichlid tanks although people have gotten there plants to survive without being eaten
