There doesn't seem to be much informartion about these Cichlids on the net. I just wondered if anyone had any experience of these fish and could share their thoughts and experiences with these fish?

I have a community tank with Tetras, a pair of Chromides & a pair of Keyhole Cichlids.

My local dealer says they're good community fish but I thought i'd ask on here first before taking this any further.

Thanks for the links but I'd gone through most of them this afternoon.

To be honest i'd prefer to hear from people that have kept these fish as a lot of books & resources never seem consistent.

It's amazing how many books and web pages say a Kribensis is a good community fish. From my own experience and that of others i've discussed them with online, they're anything but! :)

Thanks anyway though.

Archocentrus sajica , though I think it's changed again. I think they are terrible community fish - they're less nasty than a convict, but they're nothing like peaceful. I gave mine away about 6 months ago.
Apart from a milder temperament they're similar to convicts, as they're from the same genus. They were pretty spiky to other bottom dwellers, and will probably trash the chromides and keyholes once they get to a 2 inches or so. Might not touch the tetras, but mine went in a community tank, and maybe it's a coincidence, but I had a sudden spate of dead tetras. I gave mine away as I wasn't terribly interested in them, but they're not a bad fish, certainly a bit better than convicts as you'll likely be able to sell some fry. The market here is absolutely flooded withthem, and they don't shift

Thanks for that Wayne. I always prefer to hear what experience other people have had with fish after my Krib disaster.

Think i'll give these guys a miss unless anyone who's had a different experience with these fish would care to comment?

Well if you've a spare tank or a medium sized rowdy community they're a good fish. A 55 with a pair of these, pair of blue acara and some pictus or similar and some larger, unusual livebearers would be a good tank. They have nice colours and are easy to breed.
And it's Cryptoheros sajica apparently now.
