Clams?

its not that hard to raise clams right?

they dont move that much and only req. light and food?
and of course good water

umm from what i can remember very good lights, really established tank and of course food

Very intense light, excellent water conditions, and a mature tank to offer enough food.

unless you have metal halides and an established tank (wich you dont ) its not a good idead

Exactly as stated........high water quality and intense light as once they get to a certain size are virtually totally dependant on light. There are some species that you can have that are more forgiving of lower light intensity such as a squamosa .......even then they require high light and a mature tank that can accomodate their size. Most of these clams get huge with the exception of a T. Crocea but unfortunately the croceas and maximas are the highest light demanding of all the Tridacna clams.

and thos vivid corals.

good than you have something to look for to once your tank mature and youve upgraded to metal halides

the lowest wattage of HM i found was 70 and it goes up to 1000 watts (dam)

but a 250 would be fine for a 46g?

or should i get like 2 X 150 watts?
