everyone knows clams are the living filters of the water

do you think it would be ok if i got 3 or 4 of the freshwater clams for my tank?

That would depend on a few factors .

How big is your tank?
How much water flow?
How long has your tank been stable (they are fairly sensative)?
What fish are in the tank?
What type of Clam (have you researched the specific types)?

As you stated, they are filter feeders. In most cases you would need to feed the clams food stuffs in their partical range. This might be phytoplankton (green water).

I believe you said in another forum that you have a puffer? Puffers eat clams.

Lol I have 3 fw clams they are pretty neat actually but none of my fish want to eat them like yours =P if you ever make another tank they sure are interesting to have.

yeah im thinking about taking my 15g and putting guppies, ghost shrimp, and other feeder stuff in there, i might just get some for that
