i got 5 fresh water clams i duno the purpose of them or w/e but i bought them not knowing that they dont do much but its really pissing me off can somebvody tell me the purpose of having these things cause im about to give these things away

I think they're good because they filter the water. Thats the way they eat. If you don't want 'em, pass them over here.

you should also know that their babies are parasites in the larvae stage...this may or may not be harmful to the rest of your tank...its probably something you might want to research a bit

They dont ever do much. You can watch them bury themselves everynow and agian, but other than that...

Didnt know that about there larvae stage liz, thanks. Never had any problems with the ones I had, but from the way I read the link, they really only pose a large health hazard in large numbers.

you might need to crack the shells a little. im not sure but i think that some shells can chip a puffers beak.

Sorry to tell you but those are gonna die because they are filter feeders and need large amounts of free floating microscopic foods to survive. And yes their young are parasites so you might want to take them back to the store.
