We all know you can just take windex and clean glass tanks or atleast the outside, but how do you clean acrylic? Ive heard that you shouldnt use windex or any cleaner because it can seep through into the tank water so ive never tried it to find out. So whats the best way to clean off acrylic? Thanks a ton.

lol @sinasster

I have a general rule that i never ever use any type of cleaning agents on tanks, even glass. There is however stuff you can buy that is tank cleaner. i forget the name of it, but i used it all the time at the LPS i used to work for. It not only cleans hard water stains etc off acrylic and glass tanks, but coats the tanks with something that allows future hard water stains and smears to be removed easily with a damp cloth, leaving no smears or hdwater stains...

the reason you shouldn't use windex is because it contains ammonia, which will dry out acrylic and cause it to scratch even easier than before.try plexo to clean your tank just don't get it in the water at all.NOT ONE DROP(don't know what will happen)plexo is formulated for acrylic surfaces
