Cleaning Bio-Wheel Filter Media?

I have two used Penguin 200 filters, one was used on saltwater one was used on freshwater. As it wasn't my tank, I'd like to give them a real good cleaning before use.

I am going to buy new filter cartridges for them but wanted to just clean the old bio wheel filter media instead of replacing it (its expensive).

So, what would be the best way to clean the biowheel filter media?

I would soak it in bleach solution for a couple of days, then rinse thoroughly, then put in a bucket with extra dechlorinator.

Think 10% bleach is a good number to go with?

You could go for a higher percentage, as long as you rinse and dechlorinate it well.
