Cleaning the outside glass

Hello everyone,

This may seem like a stupid question, but, is it safe to use a glass cleaner on the outside of the tank? I tend to be somewhat of a klutz and when I clean the tank I spill water on the outside glass and now it's all covered in water spots. I would assume the best thing to do would be to spray it on a paper towel beforehand to assure none gets in the tank. I just wanted to be sure it was okay before I went spraying chemicals everywhere.

i've used windex before on the outside of my tank. like you said spray it on the paper towel first well away from the tank. just be careful and you should be ok

I use windex on my outside of the tank when I clean the tank or after I did water changes.. And heck I ever do it just because I want to. All you got to do is be careful with not getting it in the water. or filter.
