I've had this tank set up for about 6 months. Recently the tank got cloudy after I had been treating it for ick for about 2 weeks on and off. It all started with a few clown loaches that I got and they kept getting ick, well anyway the ick had cleared up and the water was cloudy for some reason. I thought I would just wait awhile and see if it cleared but it's been about a week and it hasn't. I did a water change and it didn't make a difference, and one of the clown loaches died a few days ago. All of the fish look ok, but it's cloudy. All of my readings came out normal for the water, any ideas? Thanks.

sometimes the ich parasites are soooo small you cant see them with your eyes. there can still be ich in the tank and sometimes the parasites even go dormant for quite some time in the stage when it comes off the host and sinks down to the gravel. itll stay there for day and maybe a week after youve finished treating the tank and they come back. if this is correct you should vacuum the gravel while doing the water change to pick up any left over ich parasites and medicating the water OR you can buy some of this stuff caled Sparkling Clear by aquarium pharmaceuticals inc. and this worked great when i got my cloudy water. when you put it in itll look a little cloudy but within 24hrs the tank should be clear. it always worked for me.

p.s. did you remember to remove the carbon in the filter while treating the tank with ich?

Yes, I removed the carbon, I did vacuum when I did a water change, and I haven't seen ick for a little over a week now. Will the cloudiness fix itself?

Yeah, it's greyish cloudiness, I was using methyblu, but then found out that it kind of prevents braking down of bacteria so I quit using it. That's probably the problem but will it fix itself?

I believe methyblu kills off your bio as far as I know! Ouch! It will fix itself over time. Your tank will just cycle like in the beginning. Make sure you have a lot of Seachem Prime or other conditioners on hand that detoxify ammonia and nitrites. Lots of waterchanges will also help relief your fish of stress. O yea! Lots of patience!

Good luck!
