What did I do wrong this time? The fish seem fine but the water is now cloudy(white) after I did a 50% water change. That hasn't happened to me before. Suggestions please?

We cleaned the tank yesterday. I did rinse the filter. We added one guppy. It's been cloudy since. I cleaned off the plants and decor (just with water). It's still cloudy this AM and they are sort of grouped in the back right corner looking at me right now. Kinda creepy actually...

Sounds like you may have over cleaned the tank causing a bacteria bloom/mini cycle. You may not have any ammonia readings, but overdoing the cleaning can cause this. I assume you also did a gravel vac with the water change? You should never clean your filters the same day you do a gravel vac.

You can't, you just have to ride it out and keep an eye on the ammonia and nitrite. If you see readings of either do a water change..Do not gravel vac, just change the water.

It will go away on it's own.
