I know, what you are all thinking, and I have read all the posts about cloudy water being from a bacterial bloom, but my water has been cloudy for about three weeks. Two weeks ago, I doscovered that my wife, who feeds the fish in the morning, was overfeeding them. Since correcting this problem the water hs gotten a little clearer, but not beautiful like it once was. I do a 50% water change once a week. Any other suggestions?

Keep up with the water changes (maybe step it up to twice a week) and clean the mechanical portion of your filter (generally a sponge that removes physical stuff from the water).

I would cut back feeding a little bit more until the water clears up.

What are your ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels?

Is the cloudiness colored at all, or just whiteish?
