I have a 55 gallon freshwater community tank with 3 clown loaches. They seem to get along fine, but today I saw 2 of them inside a big cave I made for them. (it almost looked like a boxing ring!) I know when they fight for "top fish" they tend to go face to face and kind of push eachother, right? Well when I saw them they weren't really pushing or "head butting eachother" that much. They were mostly swimming in a real small circle and once in a while, one would sort of bite the others side and put it's head near anal fin. Their colors were real faded (stress), and I thought they may be mating?? I know it's unheard of, but??? Also, I cant tell the sex of either of them They were circling each other real tight, and there was some aggression, but not too much. Was this just a little "battle"? Does anyone know the mating behavior of these fish (my favorite in the tank)? Thanks so much for the reply's and help!
