I've searched around a bit and haven't found much so I figured I'd ask outright. I have a tank that had 3 clown loaches in it already, they're all nice dark orange with very black lines. Yesterday I picked up 2 more clowns at the store. In the tank at the LFS there were tons of clowns, all looked pretty nice orange and black, very active.
The two that I brought home are now kind of pinkish/white. The black looks fairly solid still though. They are being pretty active, schooling and eating with the other clowns this morning, though they tend to dart away when I approach the tank (unlike my acclimated clowns). I'm wondering if this might just be a sign of stress or is it some kind of sickness? I'm used to the clowns fighting occasionally and getting a little greyer but I've never seen the orange be so pink/white. Has anyone else seen this?

It's probably just them adjusting to the pecking order of the loach group. When you add new clowns, the group needs to re-establish its heirarchy, and there may be a few minor squabbles. Give them a little time and see how they are in a few days.
