Clown Loach Prices

What is a FAIR price to pay for a clown loach ?
(please indicate the currency with the dollar amount)

I went to one store selling 1-2 inch specimens for $9.99 CDN and another store was selling slightly larger ones for $19.99 CDN.

that sound right,as a matter of fact considering your in canada that could even be cheap.clowns are not cheap fish.most 2 inch clowns go for 8-10 dollars u.s.

ditto, I have them at tons of lfs and can get them at 1" for 4$ or 3 for 9$

thats a very good deal geoff, i live in south florida and all i see are 1.5" for 10-15, lor bigger and much more expensive

i've seen 1 inch clowns for as low as $7.99. but usually they're in the $15-$20 range.

i bought a 1 in. clown for 5 dollars, american currency. i bought a 4-5 in. clown for 15 dollars.

North of Boston..... 1.5" for 8.99. Guess that's not a bad price considering what y'all have posted. I was turned off by the price initially.

ScubaSteve, if you are near a SuperPet, sometimes they have sales, clown loaches for $4.88 each. they are around 1.5" long.

but at big als the prices are quite high, $20 is normal.

I have found them on sale for as low as $2.99 (they don't last at that price...get a rain check) and the one the y did have was so small. He was around for a few weeks but just disappeared in my tank, too bad, he was so cute.
Also, have a "Fish Club Card" at one lfs so I get fish at half price so if they have Clowns I can get them for $3. (they keep losing alot of their clowns to ich) I'm waiting to add another one or two to join the one healthy one I got from them.

Average price here is about $8. (without any discount)

Over here they sell 1-3 inch clowns for about 3 pounds. Which is quite cheap.

I have seen 2 to 3 inch clowns for 7.99 cdn and the bigger ones about 5 inches 23.99 best place to look if you have one is Big Als Aquarium services

i just bought four 1.5" clown loaches from my lfs for about $3.50 a piece. you cant really find any over that size here though. the store had a display tank with one that was about 6" long. biggest one i ever saw.

Clowns here are also in the ranges mentioned above. What turns me off through is the fact that in order to have a really healthy clown it needs to be in groups of other clowns. $5 - $7 for a fish is not bad but when I have to get 4 or 6 of them it is a bit much

just went to the mall today, they had 3-4 inch clowns for 15.99! big clowns carry a big price!

here in malaysia...i can get one for rm3 which is less than 1USD at 1.5 inch...cool price eh?=)

I bought both of mine at 1.5" for around $7.99 here in ontario, Canada. I got a question though, I've heard they can grow as long as 12" and live as long as 40 years, I've also read otherwise; anyone know the true story on these wonderful little guys?
