Planning on getting a buddy clown loach for one i have. I think I want to put it in a QTank (although I have had great luck getting healthy fish). The Qtank would only be 5g, horribly small. I plan on using a filter running on the main tank and putting the loach in there as short as possible.

what diseases should I be looking for...ich I know, anything else they are succeptable to?

what is the shortest amount of time recommended that I'd have to subject a small loach to a 5g tank?

thanks all!

A small loach will be fine by itself in a 5gal tank. You'll only need to keep him in there for 10-14 days. You might want to put down a thin layer of gravel so it feels more at ease.

Ich is the biggest threat, but look for any other abnormal behavior of course. Fin rot, and small lesions that can get infected are something to look for too.
