They grow up to a foot in length and need to school. I SUPPOSE you could put a betta with them...as long as you're planning on getting a bigger tank

As long as you're getting something like a 80g tank or larger, it should be OK

Remember that clown loaches do grow very slowly and it will take many years to get a foot long so you wont need 80 gallons right away. 29 gallon will hold them for several years. And if you dont feel like having an 80 gallon, I am sure someone with a big tank will want them. I have 4 in the ten gallon but I like to break the rules but I have alot of experience at overstocked tanks and am good at doing it so I am a bad example, lol (I do have a 29 as well if they do get too big).
