The most efficacious cure is made by using formalin solution.
Well supposely the FW dip can kill some parasites but a lot of people think it's not helping. Anyways, you have to set the same ph/temp that you have in your tank to reduce the stress and it can be a little difficult to handle. Better use your ( marine ) water.

Luckily I did have some formalin 3 on hand. They are in a bath right now for another 15 minutes. They seem to be ok. I have an airstone in there now. Is this only going to be a one time bath?

Thanks for the quick response.

IF it is ich then you can still be getting dots for a few days after starting treatment as the cure is on the freeswimming stage not the parasite. Ditto copper. However the earlier infection sounds more like brook or velvet, either of which can also manifest dots.
1.009 is good for ich, hypo, but formalin will cure the others. Dip rather than trat the QT as it will kill any filter bacteria.

Fun, eh

Lower salinity. 1.009 would be considered Brackish water.
Salt water buffers Ph.....lower salt might = lower Ph - especially if you have no substrate, etc in your QT and depending on your tap.

Adding buffer was actually something I forgot to do too when I started my hypo.

Edit: Oh well Kahlua beat me :)
