Clownfish Mating

Has anyone of you got some clowns and got them to mate, and have babies. ??

I plan on having a 55g and would like to try to have baby clown fishs, I<m not sure on the variety yet, still looking around to make my final choice. I would prefer one of the smaller varieties

Getteing them to spawn isn't unusual, but raising the fry is reputedly tough. Lot of web info on this

here is e trick to get fish to spawn thake 5-6 weeks to do this
start decrease the light from 12hr. to 8 hr and back to 12hr thats 21 days to go down and 21 to go up and at the same time drop and raise the temp 3-6 degreses and walla you created winter and spring {breeding season } that is what i do as soon as you see fry hatch remove them to a small established tank and baby them

Finaly I just bought a 25g tank and I<m not sure it is big enough for clown fish to bread ;(

But I will still try

It's about as big as commercial breeders use. You should start researching rearing the fry. I believe a book by Joyce Wilkinson has good instructions.

I just did an amazon search for clownfish and found 2 good looking books. Good luck. Start trying to raise rotifers now for practise as that's what the fry eat I believe - baby bbs won't do it
