I bought a used tank that included a pair of true percula. A few weeks later I wanted more fish so I bought a Royal Gramma and a Foxface. I wasnt aware that the clowns were breeding so the female started to get real aggressive. She ended up killing my new royal gramma  and she keeps going after my Foxface. So I went to a fish store and the man said that I could get any fish as long as it was a pair or more. He mentioned that I could get Domino Damsels, Chromis, etc. Would these fish be able to hold their own or are they going to end up like my Royal Gramma?

I like my clowns but its not worth it if I cant get other fish.....

I read that Damsels are aggressive but the man at the store said they would be fine. Seperating the female how?

Are there other types of fish that will be able to survive like the Foxface?

the tank is a 54 gallon corner unit

That Foxface is in a tank thats a tad too small, might want to think of removing it. I wouldn't add a yellow tang either. Look around, see what it is you like, but female clownfishes that are paired AND breeding are really tough, even mine runs my tank.
