CO2 Equipment?

I've been looking at CO2 kits recently. Been trying to find a cheap one off ebay.

What I need to know is how long does a canister of CO2 last? I've seen several sizes of bottle from 500g to 2kg. Obviously it will depend on how much I use but I just need a rough idea of how long a 500g bottle would last on a 180ltr tank please, anyone got an idea?

On average, you will use about 10 pounds of CO2 every 6 months. I use way more, but mine runs 24/7 with dual outputs. I don't know how pounds will convert to kg's though.

I'll be looking at something like a 500g bottle a month then I suppose, although mine will be switched off at night. It may be worth looking for a bigger bottle in the end.

Avalon do you use a PH controller or don't you bother?

What sort of diffuser do you all use? Ladder, spiral or ceramic disc type?

I just bought a 20Lb tank with Regulator for $180.00 Shipped. I got it from the Beverage Factory. If you can find a place to fill it near by it would probably be worth getting a large tank. I know at the local fire supply store is it less the $20 to fill a 20lb tank. Just some things to look into before you buy.

Yeah, I just got the number of a local brewery company to look into. How tall is your 20lb bottle Maha? Ideally mine needs to be under 26 inches high to fit into my cabinet, and then it would need a side mounted regulator.

Well, got my hands on 2x2KG CO2 bottles tested till 2012 cheap off fleabay. My bro in law is picking them up for me as he is near to where the are which means I can have them full instead of sent through the post empty. How does £30 each sound for full bottles?

I may get a PH monitor soon to control the solenoid when I eventually find a complete set.
