I got a hold of a co2 tank with regulator that you would use for making beer and soda pop.
Should I use this for my tank or is going to cost me a mint for bubble counters and reactors-n-such ect. ??

beer yum *celebrate

you've got 95% of the cost already taken care of. You can easily make a regulator out of common household items. Check the DIY section. I'm jealous. Does the tank have a needle valve as well?

yes it does it is built into the regulators. It kinda works with a screwdriver for fine adjustments. There is a big on off on top and a flip on off on the hose after the regulators. It has two regs one to tell how much is in the tank and how much pressure is in the hose ie; or the beer.

you're finished. now all you need to do is to make a CO2 diffuser/reactor.
I have run CO2:
into the filter intake on HOB filters (hang-on-back)
into the air intake hose on powerheads (I think this works best)
through an airstone that is at the bottom of the tank. CO2 bubbles rise and collect in an inverted cup near water surface.

All work, and these are just lazy ways to dissolve CO2 into the water. There are much more elaborate (and efficient) ways of doing it, but my methods always achieve at least the target "optimal" CO2 level of 30ppm. I am sure if you look around on the DIY section, you'll find gobs of diffuser/reactor designs. Enjoy the CO2 and lush plant growth that goes with it.

Um, the "screw" adjustment you're speaking of is the line pressure adjustment, the flip thing is basically an on/off valve that doesn't really give you that much control.

You really need a needle valve and bubble counter, the needle valve is what's going to give you precise bubble rate adjusment, the bubble counter is what let's you see the rate of flow. But bubble counters run about $10.00, needle valves can be had for arounf the same price if your lucky. Look for a Clippard dealer in your area.
