I have friend of mine that doesn't want his 12" cold cathode tube moonlight. It give off a brilliant blue light.

What are the advantage of these; besides the asthetic value, longer viewing time and transition to the total blackness.

Does these produce the same blue light spectrum that might benefit my corals?

I thought photosynthesis (Chlorophyll) use the visible light spectrum (except green)? That’s why I am a little skeptic.
For those that use of these blue light cathodes, do you have it turned on during the entire night? If not, how long?
