Coldwater aquarium - and snails?

I was wondering if theres a specific type of snail you can get for a cold water aquarium?

I haven't seen any in any pet shops, but i can remember we used to have them when i was a child a kept tropical fish.

Now i just have coldwater fish, and wondered what snails i could get that a) would keep the tank clear and b) not get eaten by goldfish or loaches.*SUNSMILE*

Apple snails can live in temps as low as 65°F, so they should be okay in a coldwater aquarium.

My loaches harassed my apple snail so I finally had to move it to another tank. If you do add one, I'd just keep an eye on things at first to make sure they don't take the snail out.

thanks. I'll go on the hunt for apple snails now. My two loaches are pretty docile. but will keep an eye on them!
