Although i'm not going o have to worry about this for another 2 years, i was wondering what people have done with their fish when they go off to college. I am sure not going to leave my mom to take care of it but I do feel bad putting my fish back into the fish stores after having them for 4 years. I also am not in the position to be able to take them. There is not enough room to live without a huge fish tank in the dorm rooms let alone with them. What have other people done?

Well college is coming up this year for me. Luckly i'm staying at home for the first year. But i've been thinking about when i leave. Right now i'm planning on leaving the fish....with detailed instructions. My brother and dad do a pretty good job keeping fish....so i don't feel to bad.

I live near a college, so that's no problem for me-sure it's not one of those fancy colleges, but it suits me just fine.:) I wouldn't trust my fish to anybody in my family, not even my mother (who has kept fish in the past). It's just too big of a risk!:p

maybe what you could do is buy an overthetop filter so that even if w/c's aren't done on there for a while they will be better than with the normal one. Luckily for me my dad likes to do the water changes, which is kinda weird, its the only thing he knows/likes doing.

i live close to the university where I go to school, so i got lucky and can look after all my pets (i have lots) after school.

I second the idea of having a friend look after them, or you could sell your fish to people from the boards here, ,so you konw thyell get looked after.
