Color the Oscar

I have a Red Tiger Oscar and hes growing, around 4 in. I see some other RTOs that retain their juvenile iridescense while others just get ugly. I was wondering if they're different strains or if somebody just has a secret. You know, like feeder crayons or something. I'm currently feeding it Hikari Cichlid Gold.

You can try varying the diet a little. Add in some veggies like shelled peas and zucchini. I also feed spirulina sticks, color enhancing pellets and fresh shrimp (as a treat).

also try krill.kril is a good color enchancer and should also be fun to watch an oscar eat.many people have had very nice results colorwise when eeding new life spectrum food as well.

I don't think oscars'll eat veggies, aren't they carnivorous? I tried feeding my oscar a worm a while ago, but I think I went overkill. He didn't eat, I think those nightcrawlers were too big. Krill? Does that come canned or are you talkin about live food? What brand of krill do you recommend?

sure oscas will eat veggies thats why they terrorize planted tanks.krill comes frozen in flatpacks most of th time although sometimes yo can find it in cubes.

freeze dried cubes? I think I seen some pink shrimp like things inna Wardley bottle, are those them?
