colors???

at my lfs their tank windows are covered in pinks and blues and purples. How do I get my windows like that? I was told calcium?

those colors are coralline algae--you will get that in time with good calcium and alkalinity levels

ok here I go, umm alkalinity levels. I have read up on it, someone, I forget who even found some web sights for me but, I am still not to shure what or how to achieve good alkalinity levels. (basicly could anyone tell me in 2'nd grader form what is alkalinity) thanks a lot.
