So I bought a couple neons from my LFS a few days ago, and fo course didn't quarantine them. Well one died the next day of obvious columnaris. I observed the tank and removed 2 others that looked possibly infected and isolated them in a 1 gal. Today one of them is dead. The other 4 neons in the main tank look OK.

What are the chances my whole tank (just 4 neon tetras now) will be wiped out?

Are there any precautions I should take?

Should I treat my main tank right now with Triple Sulfa or TC Tetracycline, wait until other fish begin showing signs, or what?

If my whole tank is wiped out what steps should I take to make the tank habitable again?

I won't be adding anything else before a 2 week quarantine from now on.

well I guess that "obvious" case of columnaris wasn't so. After further research and discusstion with another LFS my neon tetra died of "neon tetra disease." I guess I'm still pretty new at this hobby and not so spot-on diagnosing diseases. 2 of my 7 neons died, one is still in QT but is looking good, I may add him back to the main tank today.

I hadn't been adding any salt, and added some yesterday to both the QT tank and main tank, according to the LFS this will help keep some bacteria away and keep the fish less stressed.
