OK so my convicts just had a batch of like a 100 or more, i have gotten them food(Hikari first bites), and am just watching them, they have been doing well for about a week, just wondering at about what size do i start getting them out of the tank...any comments, ill post a pic when they get a little bigger as my camera doesnt take very good up close pictures

Is this your first spawn? Congratulations on the babies! When I had a pair of convicts and they had babies, I never took them out until I found an LFS that could take them (they were not quite 1/2 an inch). In my opinion, it's best to remove them when they are about 1/2 inch long. :)

Thanks guys, yeah this is my first spawn, and thats all i needed to know, i asked the people at petsmart here in town and they said it was about a month after they were born when they started removing them, but i just wanted to here from some people that probably were a little more experienced with this....i appreciate it

Oh, I'm glad you told me it was your first spawn. Sometimes the parents will eat their first spawn, and even the second, don't let this discourage you, because they will stop eating them, it just takes practice sometimes. Since they haven't already eaten them, things look good. :)

Carl & Connie have bread 3 times (that I know of) in the 4 months that I have had them. One thing you may want to watch out for is that the "teenagers" from prior breedings may eat their younger siblings. The five 1/2" survivors from the first "session" were observed by me bullying their younger kin.
