Hi,
I have two convict cichlids one 5 inch, and one 4 inch. in a 30 gal tank. i want to add one more fish to the tank. what is a good fish that is more powerful than one convict but less powerful than two? i still want it to be a convict dominated tank, but with other fish that could atleast hold on to a fraction of territory. i used to have one texas cichlid that dominated both convicts, but i took him back b/c he was TOO dominant, making the convicts boring. so then i got 3 firemouths in his place, and the convicts dominated all 3, and the firemouths are boring b/c they just float in one spot for hours at a time.
so what combination do you think can be put with 2 convicts in a 30 gal? one convict (female) is really dominant but smaller, the bigger male only defends vital territory, or when another fish gets to close to the female, the female is in a cave 75% of the time so im not worried about her high aggression.
so what do you guys think? any suggesstions?
